VP Student Services Search

Dear colleagues,

I would like to update the campus community on our search for the Vice President of Student Services. As you know, our previous efforts last semester were unsuccessful. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, a second search has also been deemed unsuccessful due to an insufficient number of candidates.

I want to thank the members of the search committee who spent time and energy on this process. When I informed the committee of this outcome, I told them that serving on a Search Committee is perhaps one of the most important acts of service you can provide our college. The work is time consuming and designed specifically to ensure procedural fairness and equity are maintained.

We know there are several reasons why our search was unsuccessful. At this time, there are a number of other colleges in California also looking for a VPSS and good candidates are in high demand. To that end, the College will continue to work with the District to ensure that we are doing all that we can do to meet this increasing challenge. We will not end our effort and will do all we can to create a qualified pool of candidates.

I will update the college community on our efforts as we move forward.
