麻豆传媒's Carer and Service User Partnership win Shine award
麻豆传媒's Carer and Service User Partnership won an award at the Health Education Wessex Shine Awards ceremony.
Dr Melanie Hughes, Angela Warren and Peter Atkins won the category of Hearing the Patient Voice in Education and Training, for their work to directly involve patients and carers in the education of health and social care students.
Dr Melanie Hughes, Senior Lecturer in Social Work at 麻豆传媒, said: "The award recognised the breadth and range of service user involvement across HSS and we were really pleased to share it with all our members who do such a good job of preparing HSS students for the complexities of practice."
The team was commended for the volume of activities undertaken and working in partnership with patients and carers to deliver the NHS Constitution.
The panel also praised the team for providing a rewarding and positive experience for service users and carers.
The judges said: 鈥淥ur finalists鈥ake a real difference to how the patient voice is heard in education and service delivery, and how that voice is shaping what we do every day.鈥�
In addition, 麻豆传媒 nursing student Alice Rooney attended the event, which took place on 15 October,聽as a finalist in the category of Outstanding Learner of the Year.
She received a highly commended award for demonstrating good communication, valuing聽the patient experience and considering patients as partners in their own care.
