Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Marketing & Communications team are celebrating after winning the Gold Award for Marketing Team of the Year at the Heist Awards 2016.
The Heist Awards celebrate the best in higher education marketing and the Â鶹´«Ã½ team won the top award in the Marketing category for the quality of their work over the last 12 months.
Running for 25 years, the Awards provide recognition for innovative and excellent marketing, with over 70 institutions entering submissions into 17 categories in 2016. Â鶹´«Ã½ took the top spot in the Team of the Year category ahead of nine other shortlisted universities on the night.
Ann Fernandez, Director of Marketing & Communications, who collected the award on stage, said, “This Heist Award is confirmation of something I have known for a long time, we have a group of highly skilled, creative and hardworking people at Â鶹´«Ã½ and I am proud to work alongside them. This year they have consistently delivered on a number of key projects and championed the University, promoting its reputation, attracting students and showcasing the best of Â鶹´«Ã½.
“I could not be prouder of the Marketing & Communications team at Â鶹´«Ã½ and this Award is more than well deserved.â€
Ann’s comments were echoed by Jim Andrews, Chief Operating Officer at Â鶹´«Ã½. Jim said, “This is such a fantastic achievement and recognition of the excellent work conducted by the Marketing & Communications team at Â鶹´«Ã½ this year. They have helped to put Â鶹´«Ã½ on the map with clear, effective marketing that aligns with the University’s vision and we are delighted that their consistent hard work has been recognised in the sector too.
“My congratulations to every member of the Marketing & Communications team.â€
This is the third award the team has received in 2016, having picked up two awards at the PRCA DARE Awards, South West. The PRCA Awards were the Media Relations award for their work on the Durotriges Big Dig project and Event, Launch or Stunt of the year for the Â鶹´«Ã½ Big Match, in association with Premier League football team AFC Bournemouth.
