The Â鶹´«Ã½ Speakers Forum and the Fresno County Public Library Big Read Program presents esteemed and award-winning poet Claudia Rankine. Claudia Rankine is the author of five collections of poetry, including "Citizen: An American Lyric" and "Don't Let Me Be Lonely." She is also the editor of several anthologies including "The Racial Imaginary: Writers on Race in the Life of the Mind." In 2016, she co-founded The Racial Imaginary Institute (TRII). She is a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets and teaches at Yale University as the Frederick Iseman Professor of Poetry. 

Admission is free. Parking is relaxed in lots B, C, D only! All are welcome.

Community Reading Project
Leading up to Rankine's appearance, a Community Reading Project will be held featuring Marisol Baca, Ray Ramirez, Lee Herrick, and Karla Kirk. The first 100 participants will receive a complimentary copy of her book, "Citizen: An American Lyric." There will be four group discussions on the book beginning Wednesday January 22. The remainder of the discussions will be held the next three Wednesdays, January 29, February 5 and February 12. They will be held in the Staff Dining Room from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For additional information contact Michael Takeda
