FCC's Spring Semester Convocation

Jan 8, 2021 —

This morning, Dr. Carole Goldsmith, Â鶹´«Ã½ president, made remarks regarding the riot that took place at the U.S. Capital on Wednesday afternoon. The remarks were made at the Spring semester Convocation which was held virtually to welcome faculty back for the next semester. She reminded faculty and staff that educating and creating a college going culture is their job. Her comments were made during the first 4 minutes of the video recording of this morning’s Convocation. The link is below for your convenience.

“I am confident that by working together, our college will lead the Valley in the economic recovery. In 2021, we will continue to work together to seek more resources for students and fight for any additional policy or regulatory relief that we need to better support our students and serve our community, said Goldsmith.

Â鶹´«Ã½ will continue to offer classes online this Spring semester. The semester starts on Monday, January 11, 2021. If any student should find difficulties with online classes, they are encouraged to seek assistance with a number of online services to help them succeed including tutoring, Library services, the Writing and Reading Center, and counseling. Additionally, the college is loaning technology to students who may need a laptop, iPad or a WiFi hotspot.

While it is encouraging that our community is now starting to receive COVID-19 vaccinations, it is unknown when the FCC campus will reopen and when classes will resume in person.  For the time being we encourage all to follow pandemic protocol in order to reduce the spread of the infection.
